Protein Issues
I don't want to keep eating and ignore the full feeling but I need to EAT! I'm still doing one protein drink a day and that's where 27g of my protein comes from.
I eat 3 meals and 2 snacks a day but one of those snacks is the protein drink. As I kick up my working out I know I'm going to be needing all this protein but man am I struggling to get it. I keep myself on EXTREMELY low carbs (20g most day and under 40g when I do more than an hour of exercise) and I don't do net carbs so protein bars of any type are out.
I realize that one of the answers is another protein drink. I REALLY would like to avoid that if at all possible. with the extreme nausea at any liquids being taken in, drinking a protein drink right now is kin to torture. I do the one because I know I have no choice but I'd really like to find a way for the rest.
Here are my stats for today to give you an idea (they are almost twice the carbs as usual because I drank a cup of milk after working out today, I was just dead and that milk really does kick it up for me)
Calories 729 (also high because of milk)
Carbs (38)
Protein (74)
But in actuallity both the calories and protein are a fair bit less because I only ate half my dinner.
A More typical day looks like this:
Calories: 594
Carbs: 19
Protein: 69

What I would really do is add a small protein shake but since you have problems with that, try the snack. Can you do any protein shake? Like a protein hot chocolate before bed. There's a really low cal packaged chocolate made with water---make a slurry of maybe 1/4-1/2 scoop of protein and mix in. Might give you about 10 g more of protein. Makes me sleep extra good!
Cottage cheese and NF Plain Greek Yogurt are high in protein and you could mix the two together and/or add some flavored or unflavored protein to them, which would bump up the protein level. At this stage, it is almost impossible to get all your protein from food, since your sleeve is still swollen. Adding protein to anything will help to boost the protein content. Egg whites are another good source of protein and would be something that your body could use after working out and offers some good protein. You could make an egg white salad, with NF Greek Yogurt and possibly, add some unflavored protein powder to it. Not very many calories, either. If you drink milk, mixing some unflavored protein might help to add more protein. If milk helps you, the protein and carbs are what your body is craving and needs for replenishment.
I don't know if that will help - but it has helped me!!
Good luck!

I've decided to try a PPI for the rest of the week and see if it helps with nausea. If it does great. If not I think I'll just have to talk to my surgeon because this constant feeling of needing to throw up without expecting an adorable baby HAS to go.
