What's your goal this week?

I struggle with the whole BMI thing. Normal BMI for me is 159 lbs. So no matter which goal weight I choose, I won't be in the normal BMI range.

My PCP says absolutely no way should I go that low. My surgeon's MD kept pointing out that weight lifters, body builders don't fit in normal BMI ranges, either. I am very large framed for my height and muscular.

I'm chosing to go by body fat %, how I look, and my internal health, but there's still the nagging thinking in the back of the brain.....

I'm doing the same thing.  I will fine tune once I am maintaining.  Thats why I gave myself some months before plastics.  I did get advised to hold off on body composition testing for a while after transitioning to maintenance.  Apparently its not uncommon for the composition to change as your body re-establishes homeostasis.  So I'm not doing my body comp until the end of july.

I had no idea you were 6' 2".  I have a son 6' 2" and a son 6' 3" and I can't even imagine them at 171!!!

You are making smart decisions.  And as you are aware, PS is also going to take some off.  Plus, you'll continue to lose in maintenance for awhile, won't you?  Until you work your way back up to true maintenance calories?

You have worked so hard for this. I'm thrilled that you're so close!

[I'm not gaining weight. I keep lowering my goal!] [I LOVE MY SLEEVE!]

Work out three times, including lifting 3 times and 3 cardio sessions of at least 20 minutes split between bike and the stupid eliptical machine.  I have a love/hate relationship with the eliptical.

I broke my foot 2weeks after being sleeved.  I'm hoping the cast comes off tomorrow and I can begin to workout and walk without limping!!!!

Highest weight 395#. Surgery weight 325#. VSG on May 14, 2012 with Dr. Amir H. Mehran at UCLA.     Life & challenges are what we make them -- this new beginning is what I make it!

My goals are to finish the Pre-pre-op requirements in time for my 2nd appointment with my Surgeon next Tuesday, 7/10.  The last appointment I have to do is my Cardio Stress Test which is this Friday. She required that I lose 5-7 pounds by my appt with her. I have lost 4 so far in the last three weeks. So my Food Goals are to continue eating High Protein, and Vegetables, Get 8 cups a water in today, and only eat three times a day (I have been following this regimen for the last three weeks). My Exercise Goal is to to Curves three times this week (despite the fact that my MWF routine will be disturbed because Curves is not open on W July 4).

I really need to meet her weight goal so that I can be given a Surgery Date soon enough that I can recover before I start teaching in the Fall. I tend to take longer than average to recover from surgery.

Let's all check back in on this thread at the end of this week to let everyone know if we achieved oiur goals.

My goal is to work out 5 days this week - Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday. I do a pretty intense full body resistance circuit three days per week and am doing an hour on the elliptical with no problem now. Still trying to keep exercise a priority.

I'd also like to be under 170 lbs. by week's end, but since I don't really have control of that, well..... I can dream, right?

My goal is to squeeze in at least one run, even if it means going to the gym. It is so hot here that I have been slacking, but I need to do something. I am so cranky and I really think a good long run will fix things.
