6 Months Post VSG - Pics & NSV!
VSG on 01/25/12
This Wednesday marks my 6 months since surgery! If all goes well I should be hitting my 150 pounds lost from my highest weight by the end of next week but closer to 130 pounds lost since surgery.
I won't lie this whole journey has been one absolute psychological road trip. My mind definitely is taking it's time to catch up with the changes in my body but I do have days where I feel absolutely impressed with myself....usually it's a picture or a comment from someone that catches me off guard and makes me go....damnnnn I do LOOK GOOD! I still have about 80 pounds to go until a healthy BMI.....which seems like a long trek still to come but life is just awesome!
Yesterday I went to Canada's Wonderland with my family including my mother and her husband...a place I haven't been in years because I couldn't fit on the rides! I had such a blast going on rides with my kids and also going on the big roller coasters! I had so much anxiety waiting in the lines and was pretty much convinced that they would tell me I couldn't ride because I was too big...but I fit in every ride without a problem and nobody did a second glance like whoa nelly what is she doing trying to ride this roller coaster! My two favourite rides of the day were the HUGE coasters....Leviathan and Behemoth! LOVE LOVE LOVED this non-scale victory! It feels so great to enjoy roller coasters again after years of being deprived of them because of my large size!
The other great thing that happened is I was out all day long walking without any complaint and without feeling pain in my legs or exhaustion setting in! Overall I just had a blast!
So.....here it is.....my 6 Month comparison pics...Post VSG....

Your post brought a tear to my eye. Going on rides is something I really want to do with my kids. So far this summer just tried the ferris wheel with them but I know other rides are also doable. You look amazing and are doing a wonderful job. Isnt it wonderful that the amount we now have to lose is less than the amount of weight we have lost? Think about it.... think about all of your wonderful accomplishments and keep rocking that sleeve !!!
