Take a deep breath, and stay away from the scale. It only gets harder from here. Find something else to focus on other than the scale - that way you have something to work towards, accomplish and celebrate even when the scale says F*** you.

I understand.  My body is re-adjusting right now too -- and I'm only 3 weeks post op.  I dropped about 12 pounds quickly (first week) after surgery and then nothing else.  No, I don't think It's the "dreaded 3-week stall" and no, I am not going to compare myself to everybody else's progress.  My body is just catching up and it's gonna do what it wants to.

But here's the deal .... I'm in this for the long haul and I'm doing everything right.  So I'm really thinking more about that instead of the number on the scale. I just keep thinking about Christmas and where I'll be by then ....

I know that's probably not what you want to hear, but you're not alone.

It happens, just eat the program, drink your water, and exercise: the weight will come off again.  Journal your eating.  Have faith...

This - exactly.

I've been hovering at 244.6 for the past couple of weeks and would normally be going spare, but I know that I'm eating on plan and the fat has to go eventually.

I'm also in the midst of a trial to see if I can safely be off BP meds, a bit scared to go to the pool in case my BP plummets again, and my legs are swollen from sitting around. When that is all resolved I bet I'll get a nice scale surprise.

Follow your plan, exercise as you're allowed and able, and try to focus on something else for a bit - the weight loss WILL happen!

Honey, Stalls are like Death and Taxes - you can't avoid them.  You can't beat them.  There is no magic recipe to make them go away.

They are also very specific to each of us.

If it helps, think of it this way - a stall can be proof that you actually ARE doing it right and losing.  The stall is your bodys way of saying WHoooa nelly - I need a break, things are happening too fast here.  Watch your food journal, stay on plan, and the weight will come off.  It just has to come off when your body is ready for it to.

Like alison said, if the scale is driving you crazy, move to weighing once a week, or take a small break.  Just fly by your nutritional and exercise information and NOT the scale.

I don't know your plan, so I am writing this under the assumption that your plan is similar to what my plan was at this stage.  If you are only eating 600-800 calories, your weight will come off and this is just a normal part of the process.  Keep your protein up, 80-100 grams if you can, carbs under 40 and drink like a fish.  You should see some measurable shrinkage in your body during the stall.  That is when I would lose sizes, but it was still hard to go through through.  Just hang in there, this will work.

As my doctor so wisely told me - "The jeans don't lie."

In other words - step away from the scale for a while and pay more attention to how your clothes are fitting.

You will feel much better. :)
