For the runners!

Hey, for anyone who is running, starting running whatever. I stumbled on the RunKeeper app the other day when I forgot to bring my FitBit on a run and wanted to track my miles, and it is FANTASTIC. You can go to their website and join free training programs and it will send the info to your phone, it gives you verbal prompts, tells you how long you have been running and how far and your pace.

The training programs tell you which days to run and how far to go and what pace to set for that run and helps you to work towards whatever goal you are trying to achive (5k, 10k, half etc). I signed up for the Sub 60 10k and it's wonderful.

 THanks, I will try this out. I've been using mymaprun app, but seems to need recalibrating too often.

I think mapmyrun charges money for a few good things that RunKeeper gives for free too, so it's worth checking it out! For some reason I always had trouble keeping a signal with MapMyRun, so I gave it up, but so far I have not had any issues with RunKeeper.

 I've been using Nike + GPS on my iPhone. I might have to check that out though!

Speaking of runs, I need to get an 8-9 mile run in while in Atlanta. Will you join me/drag me/push me????

I am have not done 8 solid yet (I have done up to 10, but had to take a walk break in the middle), but I am willing to give it a go with you! My husband was laughing at me last night b/c I was making my "take" list for everything I need to pack, and he was like "you are never going to get that in your bag" LOL

 Right now - my longest run is 7. I need to do a longer one though!!

Im seriously glad my clothes are tiny now - can squeeze so much more into a suitcase now!!
