Ironic new job

Started a new part time job last week.  I'm helping to run a small cafe located inside of a large insurance company.  I take orders, run the registers, fill stock, help customers, etc.  My first day the boss says to me "You're welcome to eat and drink as much as you want for free.  I like my employees to be happy.  But looking at how skinny you are, I'm betting that you eat like a bird."
The irony!  I'm now working where there's unlimited free great tasting food--and not eating it!!  Not even tempted.
It's an extremely fast paced environment (sometimes don't even have time for a bathroom break) so I bring a Quest bar for lunch and munch on that while I wait on customers.  Lost 2 lbs this week!  LOL

Yes ironic.  How are your knees doing - hoping I am recalling correctly that you had knee replacement  last spring.  I need to have mine done - having to wait until I get rid of my weight.  Just wonderinghow you are doing with the knee recovery.

How sweet of you to remember!  Yes, I had a total knee replacement March 29th.  I would NEVER have been able to do this job prior to my knee surgery.  I am literally walking or standing for 6 hours--there's no where for me to sit even if I did have time!!!
At the end of the day, I have no knee or lower back pain.  Preop, I couldn't stand or walk for longer than 10 minutes.  The biggest help was losing the 80 lbs preop (and another 55 lbs postop).  Horribly painful surgery and recovery (not gonna sugarcoat it) but 7 months later, well worth it.

Good luck!

Yes I remember some of your posts during your rehab. Really dreading that surgery but hopeful that losing this weight will definitely help. Good to hear that you are free of back pain and knee pain. I need to have both done but my right one is the worse by far. I also can't walk for more than 5 min or so. I am 11 yrs older than you but I hope to do as well. Good luck on your new job!!
