I am having a bad "food" day. I am wishing I had real food and not just my liquids. I know that eventually I will eat fodd again, I just miss the texture and taste and satisfaction of eating.

Can someone gibe me some encouragement here? Thanks

I chewed gum at that stage.  Actually I still chew gum.  It helps.  Just don't swallow it.

I'm 9 days out and I'm with you.  Yesterday I got off broth and jello and started full liquid, cottage cheese and yogurt.  I thought I'd be grateful , but I want some damned food!  A sammitch!  Grrr. Anything.   :/

I hear ya! I was at my besties's house today and she was cooking tacos for dinner for her kids, my bubs came to pick up my son to go to Japanese steakhouse......I just wanted to brak down and eat something BHT I'm too scared I'll get super sick, that's what holds me together.  A sammich would be okay too!

I don't know when you get to have pureed food / soft food, but what really helped me a lot in liquids was making homemade chicken soup.  I added more water to the broth.  I used quality water, mountain spring water.  Then, with just the broth, I would add a scoop of Unjury Chicken Soup protein powder to it in a protein shake bottle.  You heat it only a little since the protein could curdle. It is very soothing and good, and it helps to have something salty instead of sweet.

Good luck!

It gets better I promise!  When you are on puree stage and you can eat ricotta cheese after being on liquids so long it will taste like gold.  ;-)   Now I can eat anything.  I'm almost 3 months out.  The problem is that I can tolerate almost anything meaning carbs and chocolate included so I got to be careful.

I feel you, I feel you. I'm on day fifteen since my surgery, with two more weeks of liquids till I hit purees, and I'm getting a little weirded out by how much time I spend thinking about food.

I have a basement but don't dwell in it full time.

I was passing my daughter her French fries last night and one landed on my finger and almost found its way to my mouth. I am less then a week post op and it would have caused bad damage. Total head hunger!
