Carbs
The first 6 months, around 40 a day. It was self-limiting. When your focus is on protein, there's not much room for carbs. Now, I average around 100g a day, but still from veggies and dairy, and very little fruit. I still mostly avoid bread, rice, pasta. What works for you depends on how carb sensitive you are. Some people seem to look at carbs and gain weight; others don't have to be as strict.

You are right. My carbs are almost all from veggies and fiber sources. I count all the carbs and do not take out the fiber. I now allow myself to eat things like sweet potatoes with skin or even an occasional 1/2 of baked potato with skin. I always cut the carbs first if I want to lose a bit of weight.
