Mixing Shakes???

All,

I started the Pre-Op diet and have had the sense that using the blender to mix the shake added a bunch of air to them. They just seem foamy. Do any of you have any hints for mixing this stuff up to the point that it is not so "fluffy"?

Just mix it with a spoon. No need for blenders or shakers with blender balls.

You could try the stir setting or just use s blender bottle. I found the blender to add air also so the blender bottle worked best for me. Good luck.

I'll try that setting. This morning I used a spoon rather than the blender and it was MUCH better.

Some shake powders make more foam than others, but you likely don't have many choices right now. What I found helped with the foamier ones was mixing them up before bed for the next day. The foam subsides in the fridge overnight.

Thanks. That is a great idea. I am making one in the blender now for lunch; so we will see. I used a spoon on the one I dran this morning as suggested by ParisGirl. It was MUCH better.

if you have a blender stick, try that....mine are less foamy with it....I don't think you can add ice until after tho'.

I have a Vitamix, which can blend a tire if you need it to. I found the same issue with foaming. I mix my fluids and ice first and the blend them to the proper consistency. Then I put in my protein powder and slowly blend until mixed in. When I want to make protein ice cream, it helps to have some air whipped into the mix.
