i am guessing when i should weigh my protein before or after it has been cooked or grilled? i mean 4 oz of raw chicken would be less that 4 oz cooked  (do you know what i mean? )

I weigh raw when I buy and pre package to freeze or prepare later. When it's already cooked and I have my scale, I'll weigh cooked. The difference I notice is minimal. A few grams. Less than a quarter of an ounce on most dense proteins.

I weigh it cooked, we eat it cooked, not raw. I also don't want to put raw meat on my scale LOL I'm just a nut like that!

To package and put things away to freeze, I will weigh raw.  I always weigh my food after it is cooked and before it goes into my mouth.
