When I first met with him, he told me that the VSG had a 55% EWL to be considered a success. It too****il post op that I found out that he was calculating that my excess weight at 157lbs. That means that for my 5'1" height he was using a goal weight of 106lbs. I never thought I should weight that. It is the lower end of normal BMI. I struggled with what I thought should be my goal weight and came to the 150lbs as my preliminary weight goal. I figure when I get to that number, I would reanalyze how I feel about going lower.  In the meantime, I kept his saying that 55% is considered a success in the back of my mind. I reached that 55% this weekend. I know I want to lose more and I still have some work to do but it was a nice little victory when I realized it.

That's great! You've done very well. Only you can decide how much more you want to & can lose.
Congrats!

Did he tell you that at your 6 month appointment?  I still haven't really gotten an idea of where they want me to be yet.  They wanted me to be down 80 by 6 months.  That's about all I know!

Dani - i think it was my 1 month that I found out. You know that paper that they give you after an appointment with what was discussed? It was on there.
