Starting to feel the lifestyle change

I'm 2 weeks post-op Andy kids went with the grandparents last night. My hubby and I usually go to a nice dinner and catch a movie. I wanted to try and recreate that with a nice quiet evening. Had him take me to a Restaurant for the first time since surgery and had a bowl of soup. Went to see a movie, no popcorn or soda. It was a very new experience. I'm not whining, just wanted to share my first experience with my new sleeved life. A world not surrounded by food. It was interesting and different.

Ed and I are going to a movie this evening.  He usually gets the "bathtub" size popcorn.  I'm gonna sip on a EAS Advantedge Vanilla shake.

It is just wonderful to see the shifts in your life.  It won't be long, and they'll be automatic.  You won't even consider popcorn anymore.

I went to a party last week, and there was beer and wine and chinese food with some of my all time favorites.  It didn't even bother me.  I had my water, and I found a shrimp dish with veggies that wasn't too sweet, and I had my three shrimp and a little veggie, and I didn't even feel deprived.  Its so far from the realm of my life right now.  I brought home the left over crab rangoon for my kids.  It is also one of my favorites.  I did think about how much I'd enjoy eating some, but I like losing weight more.  I just walked away.

Keep up the good work. You're doing great.

Good for you on continuing the date night ritual with the hubby! It sounds like you're getting a good start on the lifestyle change. I'm 1 week post op and I hope I can do as well as you with the change. Keep up the good work! Good luck to you on your continued journey!

Thank everyone for the encouragement and thoughts. It is refreshingly different and I'm finding strength in myself I never realized I had. Good luck to all my fellow sleevers and thanks again for being such a supportive sleeve family!
