NSV?, I think

Hi all

Yesterday in the shower, my wedding ring slid off my finger and hit the shower floor.  This hasn't happened in 35 years of marriage.  I also have a sore spot on my wrist where a bone is sticking out and getting irritated  by my hours of using the computer mouse.

I just wish I'd lose more weight from my belly and less from my fingers and wrists!  (smile)

Have a good day, everyone.

Carol

Congrats. Unfortunately the belly is the last to go. I am down to close to 20% body fat and I can see abs in my upper abdomen but I still have a spare tire a deflated one, but its really hanging on for dear life. It makes sense that the belly is the primary fat storage are, its near your center of gravity which actualy makes it easier to carry around. So as we evolved (if you buy into the theory) it was less of a strain on our bodies if the extra weight storage was distributed our our center of gravity. You could carry a lot more without feeling it as much. If you carried it in your chest (ask any large breasted women with a small waist) your back would hurt and running away from lions and tigers trying to eat you would not have been quite so easy and we would likely not have survived.

The belly isn't the last to go on all Keith!  Not all store the extra there.  You are totally forgetting about us big bottom girlskiss  I never stored fat in the tummy at all until I hit menopause.

Glad the ring fell off where you could retrieve it, and not down a sink drain!

Loose rings and bones sticking out are definitely NSV 's in my book. I second that Wednesday Woo Hoo!

Yeah, that's an NSV.  Mine did go down the sink drain recently, but I was able to disengage the elbow and retrieve it.

Great NSV. I'm with you on wanting to lose more belly fat but hey, it's leaving from someplace right so that's good!

That's a great NSV, Cappy!   Glad it didn't fall off and go down a bigger drain.

Unfortunately, we gain weight proximally (from the center out) but we lose it distally (from the extremities toward the center).  In caveman days, it's what protected humans from starvation.  What that means for us is that the belly will be the last - the VERY last - thing to go.   But in the meantime, enjoy wearing smaller rings and shoes!  LOL

I think the day I can actually wear my wedding ring again, will be the happiest day :). I haven't been able to wear it in almost 8 years and we have never been able to get it replaced. I can't wait for it to fit my finger again
