Maybe I found the culprit!

I just realized how much Splenda I've been putting into my herbed iced teas lately.  Then I plugged it into MFP and said whoa.  I'm probably getting 25 grams a day of carbs from my sweeteners!  I've developed quite a desire for very sweet drinks since surgery.  Does anyone know of sweeteners that don't have the filler in them?  That's where all the carbs come from.  Or else I'm going to have to develope a taste for water...which would be much better for me anyway.

Sugar alcohols are really only either partially digestible or not digestible at all so you probably did not get 25, but you may have gotten some. Nectrese or Monk Fruit in the Raw is my new favorite all natural zero cal sweetener, stevia in the raw or trivia would be second, and then Splenda. Splenda has fillers to make it packs gable and that is where the carbs come from, if you but plain such aloes from amazon you will get tru zero carb, but mind you you only need a very very small amount.

Sugar alcohols have always made me stall, so I just avoid them, or count the carbs.  I don't count fiber and that has never been a problem for me.  According to MFP, Nectrese has 2 grams of carbs per packet.  I use 6 packets at a time.  Yeah, it counts.  I have pure stevia at home, and as far as I know that has no carbs in it at all.  I'll have to start bringing it to work with me!

I think Nectrese might be blended with Splenda, I will have to look at my box of Monk Fruit in the Raw.

Well 6 packets would explain it. I never use more than one or two in anything. If you find Stevia a bit bitter, try Truvia as it is made from a different part of the plant which is sweeter and does not have the bitter component.

Also consider the pure sucralose becasue you could use a lot less and get the same sweetness out of it without the filler.

I'm not sure what you mean by what Splenda am I using.  I'm using regular, plain old Splenda.  I didn't know there was any other.

In Europe Splenda comes in a liquid form that does not have the fillers. You can get it on Amazon too or straight up sucralose.

I use Truvia in my drinks and when I really want it sweet I do Pure Via brand for the extra punch try these. Truvia has 3 carbs per packet and Pure Via packet only has one carb
