It's done!
Yeap. It's from a combination of things. Mostly because they use gas to expand your chest during surgery and it takes a toll.
it will all diminish over the course of 5-7 days usually. Some do better, some worse, but it's all normal.

Sorry, my brain is fried, so I wasn't very clear. I have been asking to walk for like 5 hours, but I am a fall risk because I slipped 10 days ago. They won't let me walk without a nurse, and I think the floor must be understaffed tonight, because she's running around like a chicken with her head cut off. It took an hour earlier for the day nurse to get the key to turn my pca pump back on after the battery died because it wasn't plugged in.
Gas pains are the pits! As you move around, you'll help it absorb. It sucks, but moving is the best thing for it. Best of luck, hon. Take care of yourself and ask for good drugs if you need them. Don't be afraid to be a pest. That's what you're paying your surgical team for!

I remember the first few hours after surgery. I used the pump a lot, and I was thirsty, well my tongue wanted to be wet. I finally got ice chips. I was able to get up and walk, and go to the bathroom ( no catheter) or drain tubes. The nurse helped me walk, but I I started to dry heave. It happened every time I got up. Luckily I did not have any gas pain. I remember that when I had my gall bladder out.
Just remember to walk,it helps. My night time nurse so much better then the day time one. The day time one said to remember to drink water, only problem I never go****er, and I wad using my melted ice chips fir water.
