Unrealistic goals
Congratulations on your weight loss. This is great work!
My NP said that most people lose half their excess body weight in the first 6 months, and another 30% by one year. I was right on for the 6 month goal, so I give her numbers some credibility.
I think people set high expectations, and then feel disappointed when they are actually doing great. So I'd recommend trying to be happy with every pound lost and forget the time line.
best wishes,
Carol

Thanks Carol! So what is considered excess body weight, my heaviest weight - my goal weight? I would like to know how on track I am, maybe it would make me feel better. I hope I am doing well. I still have so much to lose it's hard for me to evaluate how I am doing. I think I have a lot of unique challenges. But it means a lot that you think I am doing well. I am trying to be realistic and not disappointed! Am also trying to be happy.
Thanks for your response!

Quick math here says that's over 26lbs per month. Those are numbers you hit in the first couple months not later. That being said I think you will be pretty close if you stick to your plan. Just remember the closer you get to goal the slower the weight comes off and the harder it is to lose. Your body starts to resist the weight loss.
Thanks for the response Keith! I hope the weight loss isn't slowing down too much already, I still have soo much to lose! I just want to be realistic to myself and I was just worried I was setting too high of a goal for myself and setting myself up for huge future disappointments!
Thanks again,
Smiles:),
