Post op energy?

I received my sleeve on Monday, January 27,2014. I did not have any complications and came home after my two night stay. I'm not having any trouble getting my liquids and water in but I have absolutely no energy. Is this common?  I have to struggle to get out of the chair and even take a shower.  My pain is minimal, just some discomfort around the incision/drain sites. At this point I'm wondering if I will ever get back to normal!

So you're only 3 days out from major surgery? I think having no energy is rather typical. I slept frequently the first two weeks post-op. Now I have tons of energy. Take time to heal and know that your new normal is going to be awesome! Congrats on getting your water!

Think about how few calories you are currently getting... Maybe 300 a day? If that? It's no surprise if you have no energy right now. Take it easy and take care of yourself. When you calories go up, your energy will follow.

Give yourself a break, and your body a chance to heal. The energy spike will happen in time!

I had surgery 01/16 so I'm exactly 2 weeks today.  I was up and about pretty quickly...we went to the mall the day after I got home from the hospital, but did tire easily.  I was falling asleep by like 8 pm and taking a good 2 hour nap a day.  It got much better by day 7 and I don't need to nap now at day 14.  Still going to bed a little earlier then normal

I was exhausted! For me, some residual lethargy lasted until the week before I went back to work. Some days I had trouble getting in my nutrients because I was sleeping so much. I was told it was normal - itsy bitsy calorie intake, and your body is healing and recovering. It gets better.

Thanks for all the support. It just seemed like everyone was posting how wonderful they felt and how much energy they had immediately after surgery that I thought I might have a rough road ahead. Every hour seems to get better but I can't wait to get back to normal!

I'm 5 weeks out and have no energy and feel nauseous all the time.  You're not alone

I had surgery the day after you.  Yesterday was my first day home, and when I got here at about 2 pm, I went to bed.  I woke up once at about 5 and again at 3:30 AM.  Today was better--no naps--but I didn't do anything strenuous, either.  I cooked dinner for my family, walked around a bit, and that was basically it.
