Chia Seed and Constipation
I have struggled with constipation since my VSG in July 2013. It has made my life miserable. I almost went to urgent care one day. But I've recently started putting 1 tbsp of Chia Seed in my breakfast. Whether it be a protein shake or a small bowl of oatmeal. It has worked like a charm. It doesn't give me diarrhea like laxatives do or like MOM does. I've noticed in the last week alone I've felt so much better. My stomach doesn't hurt and I don't have the sluggishness that comes with no being able to "go". I suggest everyone at least try it for a week. Just go to Sprouts or Whole Foods and get a scoop in the bulk section. If it doesn't work, you've only wasted $4 but I have a good feeling it will.
