Back Pain

Hi, I am hoping someone here has some advice. I am two weeks post-op tomorrow and I am not able to sleep because I am so uncomfortable. I have terrible pain/pressure in my mid- and upper-back. Is it possible it is gas and, if so, how do I get rid of it? I don't know how I am surviving on so little sleep at this point. The weird part is, in the beginning it wasn't so bad but last night it got worse. If anyone has any advice, I'd really really appreciate it. :)

Call you surgeon's office...be sure they know.  Most of the time the back pain is gas; however, err on the side of caution and give them a call.  They would want you to call.

I would also ask about your bowel movements.  Strangely enough, when I'm constipated, it often shows up as lower back pain (and apparently it's quite common).

upper middle back pain could be gallbladder related as well - that is how mine presented.  The GB does a cleanout/dump overnight, so I would get attacks in between my shoulder blades at 2am.  It was strange for sure.
