One week to go!
I'm scheduled for surgery one week from today..>April 2. I'm starting to get nervous. I'm not second guessing my decision, just general anxieties. I have an awesome support group, online as well as "in person" so I'm not really afraid of failure. I think it's the realization that this is really happening. Yesterday was my last day at wor****il post-op clearance. Way more emotional than I thought it would be. I am needing the surgery not so much for weight loss, even though I am obese, but medication resistant diabetes. So, with all that rambling being said,...Hi!!
Tracy
My doc said I'll be out for 6 weeks, but it's because I work in a psychiatric facility with children (who can be violent) I'm hoping it's closer to 4...LOL I will do what he says though.
Only one week to go! How awesome! Try to keep yourself busy and the time will fly by :)

HI Gwen...I'm keeping myself busy. I have to get the house ready for staying guests HAHA A difficult task with my two dogs!
Yay! Congrats! I am having surgery the same day as you :) The last week has been REAL hard mentally on me...ALL the crazy fears of having surgery etc. I just went for my pre-op appt this am, and they SO reassured me that everything is going to be fine! So, I am now passing that on to you! Its going to be SO worth it in the end! We got to keep our eyes on the prize
Thanks! I go for my pre-op on Monday. I know it's going to be worth it...I'm having the will power for my pre-op diet, but it's hard!!! I know that right now it's ALL will power. I'm actually looking forward to the physical restrictions! I'm fully in the "LET'S DO THIS!" mode, my brain is in the "but one piece of bread, french fry, etc won't hurt!" SO far so good....I'm also looking forward to the professionals to reassure me HA!
Remember the will power you have now, I'm sure there will be times when you'll need it down the road. You're doing it now and you can do it again! Just curious, what is your pre-op diet? I know there are different ones out there, I'm just interested in knowing how different they are. Mine will be a 10 day liquid diet.
