Greek yogurt

I'm reading that a lot of you here are eating Greek yogurt.  Are you eating the kind that has fruit in it to mix in?  I eat that now, the Chobani fruit flavored, fat free. I don't think I could eat plain yogurt.  Please tell me that the flavored kind is allowed after surgery!

Right after surgery, first 3 weeks, only smooth yogurt is allowed like plain or vanilla (gotta watch sugasr content on the though). No fruit as your tummy can't process the fruit bits for some time. Lots of people here have suggested plain Greek yogurt 0% with a few squirts of your favorite water flavouring mixed in so its still smooth, high protein and low sugar but has flavour too.

Oh, that's a great idea. And I assume that after a few months the fruit kind would be fine. More carbs tho.

I am nine days out, and I am allowed to have Oikos by dannon as long as there are no fruit pieces in it.  I was told it also has to be less than 9 g of sugar.  I get the light and fit kind, it has the lowest carbs and less than 9 g of sugar.  They have several flavors that don't have any fruit chunks in it.

Same here. I love these!

My nut told me at the beginning that I couldn't have fruit pieces.  What I did was to get the flavors without fruit (key lime, orange) or occasionally get the ones with fruit and eat around the actual fruit pieces.

Don't eat the regular - too much sugar - go for the low sugar ones.

These are the only kind I eat, unless I mix protein powder into plain nonfat. My faves are peach and blueberry, but I also like strawberry banana, strawberry cheesecake, toasted coconut vanilla, chocolate raspberry, caramel macchiato, cherry. They only have 8-10 carbs and good protein!

Dannon Greek Light and Fit is the best I've found with the fewest calories - 80.

They have a lot of flavors without fruit that are delicious.  This is my afternoon snack every day.

I was told that I couldn't do fruit-flavours but I could add a bit of no sugar added applesauce to the yogourt. It thinned out the mixture and made it a little more palatable until I got used to the plain Greek yogourt.

Check with your surgeon/nutritionist to determine if that's an option for you. And good luck!
