I just had surgery June 11th  the pain has been OK. last night at about 3am I woke with a lot of pain I had been dreaming about eating to much food. Is this normal. plus the pain felt like I had been flopping around I'm still sore this am. More then than most mornings. I don't feel hungry so why the food dreams

I think that is normal, I am 3 weeks post op and the first week was tough waking up with pain and the same dreams!  I think our mind is just adjusting to the big changes.  It will get better.

I am two weeks post op and had the very same experience the first week.  This week I am doing much better.  I am less sore and the energy levels are getting better every day. I also had the food dreams.  Glad to hear this is apparently normal.  Thanks for posting .

I had food dreams at first, too. I think for me it was just my unconscious helping me come to terms with the loss of food as a coping mechanism. It had suddenly struck me with a stunning force post-surgery that I would never ever be able to eat just because I needed to avoid something. It's not as though I didn't think about that before surgery, but the food dreams were all about anxiety over what would I do, now, and what if I forgot and ate something I shouldn't? I think it passes, but that's not to say the same anxieties don't return. I think it's all normal, and sort of ironic, right?

Your mind is playing tricks on you and that will happen for quite a bit.... The mind games are tuff sometimes but remember your the boss lol... The pain was probably from rolling on your side or even belly... put pillows on both sides of you this way you can't role it will make it easier ..at least it did for me..good luck and hoping for a very speedy recovery for you!!!:-)
