Is the swelling getting worse?

I got my sleeve Tuesday. I'm just drinking water, protein in water drinks, chicken broth and I've had 2 sugar free popscicles. I feel like my stomach is swelling more. I'm sitting in a recliner and it is more uncomfortable now than it was yesterday.  Is something wrong?

No the surgeon told me to expect swelling.  Did your surgeon give you a packet before you left the hospital of what to expect?

I got a big notebook the week before and a few papers at the hospital which I had forgotten about.  I'll find them and see if that reassures me.  Thanks!

Get out the chair and get to walking!!!! Yes, you will have swelling and gas. They are both super uncomfortable and you need to be walking at least every hour. And you MUST read those post op instructions.  Good luck friend.

I read the post op instructions and they weren't any different from the notebook that I had already read. I am walking lots. I even went to work for 2 hours yesterday.  I just feel awful and it doesn't seem to be improving.

I didn't feel anywhere near back to normal for 8-9weeks. That surgery wiped out all of my energy and I was miserable with stomach spasms.I didn't go back to work for 4 weeks. You just had major surgery on stomach a few days ago. Give yourself sometime and don't rush.

Are you taking your pain meds?  Are you pooping?

I am taking pain med school but I'm trying to spread them out more. I haven't pooped yet but I'm had some good gas. I should also point out that I wrote that post a 2 in the morning so I wasn't doing much exercising then.

I had surgery the 28th. I still use an ice pack on my stomach area a couple times a day. I tried to incorporate rtd protein shakes back in Thursday but it was to soon for me. My Nut told my to go back to water/popsicles/chicken broth. She said the first week they mainly worry about fluid intake not protein. Maybe your new tiny tummy isn't ready. Mine wasn't!
