Congrats on your 3 years. I am sorry for your setbacks, I have had a few as well, including an ovarian cyst as well (but no where near as extreme as yours). Keep on trucking! Great idea to post tips for the newer VSG'ers.

Hey Hon,
I'd forgotten it was my three year anniversary until i saw your post, sleeve sister. You have been through something girl. Glad to see you're over it and getting on with getting on. Life is good and busy. So glad to see your post, i'll have a ****tail in your honor tonight. You know i will. You should have one too and we'll toast across the miles. Yeah nothing ever changes.
Hey, hey, hey! Look who's back. Good to see you, D!
So glad to hear that the ovarian scare turned out to be a cyst, albeit a very big cyst!
Having had about the same amount of regain as you, I can only echo what you've said. Best thing I've done for my health (besides stopping smoking...), but it does take some work to maintain, doesn't it!
Well now sir..I stopped smoking about 8 yes ago but the weight loss was better.
Glad to see all my west coast sleeve friends are around still.
I did have a scare. Thought I was putting on weight. Couldn't figure it out.
But all is good now. Albeit a bit heavier most def healthier and I got my boobs back!. Being eaten alive from the inside they were the first casualties lol.
All is fine now. Just gotta stop eating potatoes and pasta. Run more.
Oh well...it's all good
Cheers!
D
I am so sorry about your cyst, how scary! Congrats on your success!
My cervical cancer sent me down a hard road. Then I dropped that weight and returned to maintenance. Then my band issues accelerated; at the same time I switched careers. I focused so much on that, my kids, and with injuries came massive regain.
BUT I made bad choices. I chose to go on and off plan. For 4 years I was a great WLS poster child but I lost myself. My HW was 221 in Feb. So....before I knew my hernia could be repaired and band out I took some control.
Maintenance is hard. But being fat again was so miserable, it is not worth it! We have to make our intake and fitness a priority. I may not do CrossFit again or run half marathons but I will be fit.
Thanks for the reminders and the long term view!
