I need post-op advice
My surgery was June 17th 2014. Between pre-op diet and now, I've lost 61 pounds, but I'm still a big girl. My hair is falling out in the handfuls and I feel tired all the time.
A friend of the family who is a nurse and knows about my surgery told me I look 'very sick' a couple weeks ago. Since then, two other people - both strangers out in public - have told me the same thing. One said I look very tired and like I don't feel well and the other said I look 'very sick'. This has me really worried.
Besides feeling tired all the time, I don't have any other symptoms. Anyone have any advice or has anyone experienced the same thing? I'm wondering if I should just go to my family doctor and get everything like blood and vitamins checked? I'm not sure what else to do. I go back to my surgeon sometime in October, but I can eat and drink fine so I don't think there's a problem there.
I do get enough protein and I do take vitamins. I'm sometimes short on my fluids, but I definitely try. I usually get somewhere between 50-60oz. I know that's something I need to work on.
I was severely iron deficient right before surgery to the point I had to go to an infusion clinic and have a few iron infusions. I'm just kind of worried those didn't absorb or something..? I'm not sure what to think.
You had major surgery 2 months ago and your body is still recovering, so I'm not surprised that you're tired all the time!
How much protein are you getting every day?
How much liquids are you getting in every day?
What vitamins are you taking?

Flinstones are a horribly incomplete vitamin. Are you not taking iron, B-12, or calcium? You should be. If you're only taking Flinstones, that could very well be why you're sagging.
When I was at your point, I was taking the following vitamins. Most of these are based on the ASMBS recommendations, but the vitamin D and K are due to my own lab results. I'd trust the ASMBS over my surgeon's office of a very incomplete vitamin. And I'd also be asking my surgeon's office why they deviated/disagreed with the ASMBS recommendations.
#1 Multi, Calcium 500mg, Vitamin D 5000IU, B-12 1000mcg (every other day)
#2 Calcium, Vitamin K 500mcg
#3 Multi, Calcium, Vitamin D
#4 Iron 18mg, Vitamin C 500mg
