Sipping

Ok so I have been sipping on everything like I'm supposed to and still get that tightness in my chest that maybe I either swallowed to much or am sipping to fast how long should you wait in between each sip so it doesn't hurt. 

It's possible that you're getting too much air with your sips.  This sounds silly, but try burping yourself!  When I get that feeling that I recognize as too much air, I gently thump my upper middle chest a couple of times - pretty often that will bring up a little bubble and relieve the pressure. Geez, I can't believe I wrote this on a board about adults and not babies...  :)

Some people have better luck with different temperatures of fluids - have you tried warm tea?  Or hot soup?  

Some people also have better luck drinking through straws.  (Even though so many NUTs still caution us not to use them at all.)

I found ice pops worked the best the first few days

I'm taking Bentyl for spasm.  I told my surgeon about the tightness and he said that is spasm and not good.  I have to take it four times a day and it really helps.
