pre-op controlling my appetite after months of dieting
Every time I attempted a diet before I would get burnt out on it and slowly creep back into my old ways and gain weight. I've been nutritionally preparing for my surgery since late july. august went quite well. early September went very well. now here it is, late September and im having a really hard time staying on track. I find myself hungry all the time. I'm looking for snacks constantly. I don't know what to do. I mean this IS the reason why I am getting the sleeve... to control my hunger... but its one thing to know I need to lose more weight pre-op and an entirely different thing to do it. any advice would be appreciated. (surgery should be within a month, but no date yet.)
on another tmi note... its nearly time for my monthly and I generally am more hungry this time of month anyway... but ive had too many bad days in a row to use that as an excuse
I've lost a total of 20lbs since july and don't necessarily HAVE to lose more weight... but I know I should
Boost the fat content in your diet. Ignore any added calories from fat, but cut all sugars and grains. The added satiety from full fat foods will help with the hunger. Eat a little bit more as you need, but stick to foods with higher fats. Do not consider consume "low-fat" processed foods. I recommend you start snacking on hard boiled eggs. A half dozen through the day if you must. As long as you stay off sugars and grains you'll get where you are going.

If you're looking for snacks constantly, by all means, snack! Snack on carrots, boiled eggs, celery, raw almonds, fruit (in moderation****ep a tray in my fridge full of cut up fruit and one full of cut up veggies so when I get snacky, I grab and go! If it's there, you'll snack on it so make it good stuff!
