Sweeteners?
In the past I've used Stevia in the Raw...but I've noticed that artificial sweeteners create a lot of acid in my system (bye-bye sugar free popsicles!). I finally connected the dots and figured out why I was needing to pop Tums 30-60 minutes after eating sugar-free stuff even though I take a routine PPI each day.

Although I'm presurgery, I try to avoid caloric and non-caloric sweeteners of every kind. They're not good for you. Getting your "sweets" from fresh fruit is best, IMO.
Sdkitty, if your coffee sucks without sweetener, try buying a high-quality brand of coffee, which has just the right amount of bitterness and a full coffee flavor. If the coffee is good, you won't need a sweetener. If the cost bothers you, remember how much you're saving on the rest of your food bill.

I use monk fruit in the raw sweetener, I usually get the liquid form which has no carbs, but my store was out last time so I got the packets which have 1 carb per packet
