Question
I know people who love them and swear by them. I'm not a shake person and I basically used my magic bullet for two weeks after surgery. Since them I have convinced all my protein thru regular food and not shakes. If I do have a shake or I'm short on my protein I break into a premier protein and no blender needed.

I don't know about the RX but I borrowed my daughter-in-law's Nutra Bullet when I was on pureed and I was not impressed. I don't know if it was because I wasn't trying to puree large amounts of food, but everything would go to the sides of the glass. You had to keep scraping it out and trying again. I was glad I didn't spend $100! Like Go Blue Girl I do Premier Shakes now.
Depends on what you're looking for, I suppose.
I checked out Consumer Reports when I was having the same question and ended up getting a Ninja Prep thing instead. For me, it's much more multi-purpose than the bullets are, and I've been very pleased with it for lots of kitchen prep needs.

Oh. For shakes I just use protein powder in a Blender Bottle. Easy. Shake it up and I'm good to go.

I have a magic bullet (much cheaper) for traveling.
Ninja for everyday use.
Blender Bottle for on the go use.
Vitamix is best if you want to blend in veggies, but the cost differential is significant. I lost mine in the divorce -- but it's cool b/c my ex feeds my baby smoothies w/ spinach everyday he is over there :) and I'm not big on spinach in my shakes.
I have a Cuisinart personal blender that I like better than the Magic Bullet I had before and the Ninja I have now. It is easier to clean, blends nice and has a small cup so there isn't the problem with blending small amounts of food just getting stuck on the side of the container. I use mine to make a shake most every day.
