Hi There!!

I am 2 weeks Post Op today and down 15 pounds since surgery. That's about the only good thing going right now =]

I am still in a lot of pain. In the front of my stomach and on the right side. I still sleep in a recliner because the pain is to intense to sleep in my bed. I did try to drive yesterday and that was a huge mistake. The pain was so bad when I was trying to get in and out of my SUV and even when I reached for the steering wheel. It almost feels like I pulled something. I even start to hurt when I sit up straight in a chair....Did anyone else have this much pain 2 weeks out from surgery?

I am getting 38+ grams of protein in and almost 64oz of water (I'm on full liquids). I find it really hard to drink anything right now and get nauseous when I do. I also feel like I ran a marathon. I am so tired! I am thinking that this is completely normal though. I did have a migraine today and had to take my heavy meds which made me so sick to my stomach. grrr.

I see my surgeon tomorrow and have a list of questions for him. I think my biggest issue is the pain. Sorry about venting but I feel like it is taking forever to recover! I just want to feel better =[

At 2 weeks out I was sore but very tolerable. I was driving comfortably 4 days out. I was still taking it easy and tired easily but nothing like you're describing. You should tell your Dr.

Hi Teressa. I will be asking my dr, tomorrow, about the pain and nausea. Seems that I take 1 step forward and 2 steps back :/

No pain here two weeks out. I would speak to your surgeon about that.  I hope you recovery gets better and goes quickly from here on out.

Healing time is different from person to person.  Keep in mind that this is a major surgery, and not as casual as we treat it out here online.  Soreness is expected for a few weeks more, and tolerance of that soreness varies.  I was off pain meds within a couple of weeks and only taking them at night because of discomfort (but not intense pain).

Hi Valerie :)

I do take my pain meds but only at night because they make me sleepy. I thought I had a high pain tolerance, until now...haha! Looking forward to see what the surgeon has to say.

Thanks!!

:)

Hopefully they may have something non-narcotic to get you in-between until you're okay.
