hello my OH peeps!

Today was my consult with Dr.Joseph Capella..

everything went just as I expected

with a couple of exceptions...

1...I didn't sleep at all last nite..

my husband was hysterical..

"grace it's only a consult,he's not going to drug you and operate!!!!"

and

2.... FREAKIN' GRADEN STATE PARKWAY!!!!

( please say with thick NY accent since that's what I have...so I'm told!!!)

Dr.Capella is, from my observations and what I've read (and I've read ALOT!!!)

a sweet and humble man...

even though we where late(grumble...grumble freakin' Parkway!!!)

he took his time..

i never had an easier time droppin' my panties as he rolled around my EXTENSIVE hanging

skin,  which I swore HAD TO have fat in there still,

he says when you lay down is your stomach flat?

yes....no fat... OK...works for me...

He said I only need a tummy tuck

but since I am soooo not happy with the skin hanging over my bra strap

we discussed a breast and lower body lift

since the surgery would address my rolls of hanging skin on my back..

and would also address the fact that the sistas' sag (although at my age not THAT bad..

but the nips point in and look cross eyed at each other( there's a visual for ya!!!)

and with that also comes the arms so add that to the list although it's all like 1 procedure to him...

we talked about all my issues I had with my body and to tell the truth,

I was fairly certain, I would only do the TT, since that was/is my biggest issue...

till.....he took the pictures...as he showed me from the back..

I looked at it unrecognizing myself for like the beat of 10.. Then exclaimed...THATS ME????

my hubby laughed...

but guess what....I upgraded to full lower body, arms and lift..

it was only 1 extra hr under and I'll be done...

so thats my update...scheduling everything now....

Glad to see that you took the next step!

Having the excess skin removed made the weight loss process permanent. Prior to the lower body life , I felt that the hanging shik would be there to fill up with fat again! It cemented in my head that I would never put the weight back on.

I hope that you have even more success with this stage of the process.

Toni

OMG!!

YES!!! YES!!! YES!!!

in my head the skin is like a flat inner tube of a tire

just waiting to be inflated!

My feelings exactly. That's why I had plastic surgery.

Good luck.

I m so excited for you, sleeve sister.  You'll have it all done at once!  I think you'll be so happy you did it.

I am so happy with my tummy tuck and sometimes think about doing my inner thighs and arms.  They aren't nearly as bad, but knowing how happy I am with my tummy, I know I'd be glad I did the rest.

best wishes,

Carol

Thank you Carol..

I'm nervous, excited and so afraid!

but. I know if I back out now, I'll regret it and start the whole process over and over again

so better to bite the bullet and just forge ahead..

my back really does need to be addressed

and he's so talented that I know I'll be happy with the TT

but I also know I won't do it again and it was only 1more hour for the LBL.

actually my hubby talked me into it!

he said why not do it, it's only 1 more hr then DONE!

Hi GrayC,

I was also very nervous, but the surgery was such a piece of cake.  I was up and walking a few hours after surgery.  The nurse on the unit was really surprise that I was wanting to walk so soon, but they told me  the sooner you are up and walking the better.  I didn't even have a headache.  No nausea, little pain. The drains were annoying, but not terrible.

The next morning, I was sitting up and knitting, watching Netflix on the IPAD when the surgeon came in to check on me.  He was surprised I was doing so well.  He told everyone in his office about my fast recovery, and I became known as "the Knitter" in his office. (smile)   So try to put the fear aside.  I suspect you'll do great.

I was really surprised how important the tummy tuck was for my body image - much more important to me than I realized.  I'm so happy you are going forward with this.

 Best of luck,

Carol
