I'm seriously covered in bruises. One little bump and there's a bruise. Idk if its from all the stuff I take on daily, but this has been crazy since surgery. I take calcium+ vitamin d3 gummy multi vite gummy. iron, omeprazole, biotin, b12, fish oil fiber caps, and a stool softener daily. Do you all think there is anything in there that could be causing this bruising?i also get about 70-100 grams of protein daily and almost 1 yr out of surgery.

You lost the layer of fat under your skin that protected it from bruising.  I use ice and then an Arnica cream to fade them more quickly.

Sometimes in the summer, I have used Dermablend, a scar covering cream if they are on my arms or legs and I don't want them to be showing.

I too discover new bruises daily!  I ask hubby why he's beating me in the night.

This is just some additional information for your search. If you are not getting any or very few dark green veggies it can add to your bruising. Many contain vit. K that aides with the clotting factor in our blood. Vitamin C is also known for being good for the blood vessels and their integrity.  I know I have to pay special attention to eat the dark green veggies because we have such a protein forward diet and we don't  room for many even then. It would seem that with a multi vite you should be getting what you need. I have heard that sometimes the gummies list all the right ingredients but may not be the best quality. Maybe consider the patch, good reports on those seem to abound. I have had good luck with the generic centrum like brand sold at Sam's.

It doesn't matter what you take, but what the levels in your body are. Have labs run to see. ALL your vitamins and minerals take 14 or 15 vials. If they draw fewer, they are skipping things.

Get all the info. Rule out obvious things like this first. Labs are easy.

I would check with your doctor. I was bruising easily but thought it was just thin skin. At my annual physical it was discovered I had low blood platelets and they were dropping. Got sent to the hematologist. Turned out  to be nothing to serious and a week of prednisone straightened it out. But if platelets get really low its hospital and transfusion time.  So check with doctor. I see my hematologist and have very little bruising so I think I will be fine.     Diane S

Between 3 and 12 months out, I was always getting bruises.  It finally started to settle down about a year post-op and now I get bruises the same as I did pre-op.  I think it's just another wild and wonderfully weird side effect of rapid weight loss.
