Almost Guilty Confession

Hey Guys and Girls! Hope everyone is doing well! I have to admit that I thought this would be wayyyyy harder and more difficult than it is. I think I psyched myself up for this dramatic crazy change and it honestly has been super easy. I don't miss eating anything. I have been getting all of my liquid in every day, eating my 4 oz pureed foods and protein shakes with absolutely with no issues at all. I am so excited as my journey is going extremely well and I couldn't have expected a better outcome. I almost feel guilty as it is going so well with no hitches. I've lost 12 lbs since surgery and I know that is solely eating related since the weather has been crappy here in NJ the past week on and off and i didn't want to be out in the rain walking and get sick after just having come out of surgery. So, since the weather is supposed to be nice, assuming the Hurricane isn't heading up this way, then i will be pumping up my walking to boost my weight loss more!

Hope all my fellow sleevers are doing well! Hugsss!

It's a good thing I suppose!!! You sound just like me! I feel guilty about it and it scares me because I feel like I might take it for granted. Like I may not try as hard because I didn't go through all the months of pain and fatigue. I have yet to feel any fatigue or have any reactions to food. I have never felt nausea and never have thrown up. It's like nothing happened, except I can't eat as much.

Glad to hear you are doing so well! Have a great weekend!

Yes! That is exactly how i feel. I was a little bit out of it after i came home from the hospital, but i didn't have any difficulty. I was more scared to drink too fast or take the pain meds or stool softener. That was the worst of it. And after the gas pains subsided, i was right as rain! I am so glad to hear you're doing well girl!! Keep up the good work!!!

It is pretty funny you posted this today as I was thinking the same thing.  I am 1 day ahead of you and it has been much easier than I thought.  My Dr has me on liquids until Monday but it still has been easy.  Who would have thought chicken broth could make a great tasting meal?  This week I was allowed to have 98% fat free cream of mushroom soup which is pretty good too.  I'm so looking forward to this journey.  Have a great weekend and get out there and get those steps!

I am glad to hear that you are doing so well.  I am in the same boat thankfully.  I am so grateful that I have never had the side effects of nausea or vomiting.  So far, everything I have eaten has gone down easily with no problem.  At one point, I thought the surgeon really didn't do the operation because it seemed too easy   However, I am only able to eat between 2-4 oz still so I know it happened.  Keep up the great work and I pray everything continues successfully for you

It's great that you have had such an easy time so far.

Now, picture yourself as the guy in that fable -- he jumps off the roof of a 50 story skyscraper. As he passes each floor, he yells out "So far, so good!"

It will get hard, believe me. Almost unbearably hard. So keep today's happy memory in the back of your head.

Agree.  Using the "easy" time to work on the mental stuff is really important.
