I eat under 20 carbs per day. I usually eat less than 600 calories but I don't really keep track of that as much as I do carbs, protein, and water.

I'm just glad to hear that I am not the only one that ha**** a long stall. My NUT said for now (this was at the 6 mth checkup) to measure and never get above 6 oz or 3/4 cup, and she told me to do mostly protein and a bite or so of low carb veggies, but no carb count or calorie count. No one has said no to peanut butter either, actually they encouraged it. It does get confusing.

From what I have read if you constantly have low calories you will mess up your metabolic rate. I am typically around 1200 calories a day and I am still losing weight. As soon as I get to the point of maintenance I will up the calories until I start to gain weight. Then I will back down my calories to figure out what it takes to maintain where I'm at and keep my metabolic rate.

I strive to get in 90 grams of protein and 90 ounces of fluids per day. I try to keep my carbs down to 20 to 30 to keep myself in ketosis.

Ty for this, HFFM! After reading your comment, and doing some research, I think this is EXACTLY what my problem has been for the last couple of months. My weight loss has slowed down so much, but I've been staying at 600 cals/day. I think I need to increase my cals and protein and try to get my metabolic rate moving again. Going to increase to 800 until my 6-month checkup at the end of April, then bump it again to 1000 after that. Also going to up my protein to 80g/day (was at 60). I hope this kicks it back into gear!!

But I'm with you on the ketosis, keeping my net carbs at 20-30.

I am 5 months post VGS and I eat 600-800 calories most days 1:4 ratio 20-25 grams carbs: 80-100 grams protein. I do no****ch my fat at all. The other two days I aim for 1000-1200 calories same 1:4 ratio. I lose 1-3 pounds every week.

Because I eat eat three time a day most days I feel like with three meals and two snacks, I eat all day on those days. Lots of the calories are from fat.

I do continue to log my food, vitamins, exercise, blood sugar and blood pressure.

Works for me. My NUT isn't thrilled but agrees that my food choices are good and that it's working.

I am almost 6 months out and I am eating from 650 - 720 cals per day. I am getting between 85 - 100 grams of protein a day and stay under 20 grams of carbs per day. My dr. wants me eating more cals but I haven't been able to yet. It's too much food for me.

It's definitely hard to grasp. I sure don't want to ruin my metabolism, but getting in 600-800 calories is a chore. I'm still really early so I know I will be able to get in more eventually. Getting in 1,200 calories with only 25 carbs seems impossible.

I have always found in the past when loosing weight, if I boosted my calories 400-600 more each day for a couple of days and then back down, this would jar my system and I would start loosing weight again. Not sure how to achieve that with the sleeve, other than pouring down ice cream shakes, which would send me into a spiral I don't want to have to fight again.

Start eating higher fat foods. My breakfast is typically bacon or sausage. Four pieces of bacon is 360 calories. My sausage is 315 calories for 3oz. Zero carbs.
