MyFitnessPal...

I've tried a number of apps. I finally settled on My Fitness Pal because it has the most extensive database , and I can easily create recipies that are what I actually make versus what the is usual recipe. For example my husband and I make Chicken Marsala, however we don't bread the chicken. Instead we start with boneless chicken thighs which we brown in a little olive oil, we then carimalize the onions and mushrooms before combining the ingredients and make the sauce.

MyFitnessPal allows you to track your exercises, it interfaces with other fitness apps so you can see how your exercising impacts the calories you consume. Others here complain that MFP adjusts how many calories you are allowed to consume, however I find that I ignore the increase and just try to stay under my normal allowed amount.

I have gone fruity, so I log on an iPhone, iPad, iMac. But I have been able to log via the web from a windows machine. I am sure can others can talk about android and windows.

The only thin I wish that my data wasn't saved in the cloud. However I have set my profile to not share and so far I feel my data is safe.

So hope the long description helps.

best of luck!

I use my fitness pal, but downloaded a new one today called "evolve". It allows you to set goals below that 1200 calorie mark that my fitness pal limits you to. And it has some voice features. Like say add 3ounces of grilled chicken and one ounce of hummus to lunch....

Does the Evolve App let you enter your daily calorie goal. i have a goal of 800 calories per day per my surgeon and most apps I've looked at have lots more calories and then I have to figure out myself what i have left for the day?
