I'm sending good vibes, and also reminding you how far they've come with the surgeries in recent years. Your son and husband are going to have an even better opportunity to lose the weight now that the surgery has become better (I'll stop short of saying perfected)

Topic: Lab band to sleeve revision

Has anyone here had lapband to sleeve revision? I have to have my band removed due to it slipping and causing severe GERD related issues. The bariatric dr I saw today doesn't recommend a revision to a sleeve b/c of the GERD and said it would make it worse. But since I lost the weight with lapband I can't get a bypass. He said once the band is removed i will most likely gain my weight back and then we could talk about bypass (right now he does not ethically feel it would be right). So did anyone have the band removed due to GERD related issues and revise to a sleeve without issues?
thanks for your help!

Okay, another fun-filled day of charting. Man, I forgot how hard it is to get back into the swing of things after being gone for so long! Who else has problems remembering to jot down everything you put in your mouth? I know I'm not the only one out hear...

It looks to me like we all need each other, both long-timers and newbies. You all have the experience to share with us and maybe we have some new questions or ideas that might help inspire. I'm sticking here!

Thanks everyone!

Repeating a reply I posted elsewhere:

I regained 20 pounds last year due to life stresses but lost it all via WW. I went to the weekly meetings pre-Covid, then Zoom meetings since then. During the loss period and now back in maintenance I track my food, weigh and post on OH every day.

Topic: RE: Any vets I need advice

I feel you but unfortunately I have gained 60 lbs since 2015. Im 8 yrs post op. In 2015 I had a break up of 22 yrs, had knee surgery and stopped going to the gym 6 days a week, well.. That will do it. Im trying to lose it now. It is defiantly way harder this time and I feel like I've gained 200 back. It will always be a struggle but we have to over come that as hard as that is. If we change our mind set other things will change. Im working on going back to basics and I also joined WW clearly you only have 8 lbs so thats more doable on your own, just dont let it get anymore out of control bc Im telling you its not easy... My motivation for exercise is gone and trying to recover that is even harder. Good luck :)
