Mary Jo,

Hello from Butler, PA.  We travel through Mckees Rocks quite often.  Who did your surgery?  I am having Dr. Means/Quinlin of St. Margarets tomorrow morning.  YEAH!!!

I am so glad I read this post because I love soup and I never even considered the drinking and eating rule. I guess because the liquid wasn't in a glass, I never thought of it as drinking.  I will have to ask my NUT when I get to that point.

Liquids after solids hurts my pouchy, but I eat soup all the time... I just drink the broth first and then eat solids. I know a lot of people think soups are "slider foods" and can potentially lead to bad eating habits; but as long as you count the calories and are getting enough protein I don't see any harm in them. If soups feel good in the pouchy, it's still preferable to eat soup than rely n shakes for everything IMO. Like HippieChick, the only way I can eat chicken is in soup. My favorite soup now that the weather is getting cooler is Ham & Bean with shredded cheddar on top... yummy and lots of protein!
