I woke up at 4am, then 6am, then crawled out of bed at 7:10 am... was supposed to be to work at 7 - oh well....

I also want to know about the sublingual D3 - I take mine in pill form (which is very small and not a problem) - but I have got everything else (besides the milk thistle) in either a chewable, liquid or sublingual - its just easier for me to get them down that way.

Morning batch:

1 bariatric advantage multi
2 bariatric advantage chewy bites chocolate calcium
D3 pill
B12 sublingual
Vit A sublingual
B Complex liquid

Dr told me to stop taking the milk thistle until after my TT surgery.

Brought my other multi - and 2 more doses of my calcium chewys to work with me

D3 is a vitamin that many of us are deficient in - or low.  I take it as a preventative measure because mine was on the very bottom of the normal range.

Milk Thistle is for elevated liver enzymes. Has been like that since I had surgery.  I haven't seen my labs yet to see how it helped, but many swear by it.  Sure beats going to the specialist for it.

Thanks for the insight. I appreciate it.
I will take all of the advice I can get.
I will probably have my first labs in January.

Thanks for your help,
Emily

Your labs will be key in determining what you may need to supplement with.  When you get your labs, be sure to post them here and MajorMom will analyze for you - she's an expert at it.

The ranges on the lab reports you get from your Dr aren't always what "we" need - oh, and be sure when you get your labs from now on, you ask for a copy.  Put the info into a spreadsheet so you can easily compare each time you get them.  My Dr's office had to write directly on the script for me to get mine.

I hadn't even heard back from the Dr from the last 2 - so its really best if you become your own advocate.  I never asked him whether I should supplement - I did it based on the expert advice I get from this board.  When I saw him the last time I had to ask about the elevated liver enzymes - they hadn't caught it.....

Good Luck!

Hi Jody!

I hope you're doing well!  I'm curious as to why your Dr told you to stop the milk thistle before your TT surgery, did he tell you why?

He wanted me to stop all natural supplements - because they don't know how it responds to surgery (I'm thinking blood thinning, clotting, etc).

That would be vitamin E that they usually stop for thinning blood. I wonder if Michelle knows if it affects the blood that way. I'm guessing it doesn't. But I'll do some research if you'd like.
