Last Sunday 149
This Sunday 149

For the last 2 months, I seem to lose 5 lbs a month all in about 9 nine days.  The rest of the month I stick to my weight no matter what.  I hope this pattern changes.

Hi Kim,

The weight loss does indeed slow down. My 5th month I lost 4 lbs, 6th month about 8 lbs, and my seventh month about 2 lbs. 5 lbs/month is pretty good.  It is normal to slow down and the closer you get to goal, the slower it becomes, because your body doesn't need as many calories to maintain your weight.

Thanks for your encouragement. I looked up my calorie burn rate, and you're right; 5 lbs is about right for my weight right now and activity level.

Even if you do continue this pattern, you are still losing month to month. And that is a good thing.

Losing is a good thing. I think I start feeling insecure and afraid that I won't eventually reach goal.  I actually get a lot of encouragement from others who took it slow and steady to win the race.

Have you considered that being active and changing fat to lean muscle may be the culprit?

Yes and am not happy with it. Although I know it is healthier and need to get rid of the fat but I also want to see the scale move down.

It's a drop..and while in loss mode, any drop helps.
