and I'm still on house cleaning strike. {sigh}  DH and Son#2 will not budge off their votes against me hiring a maid service 2 to 3 times a month. So, I'm not cleaning...and neither are they!  It's getting dirty and I hope they start seeing the mess soon 'cause it's driving me freaking crazy!

Ok, it's Father's Day weekend and due to be stormy. So, DH will be at home watching the US Open. In other words, in the way and under foot. lol  Actually, I like having him home--really, I do. I've asked Son#2 to plan a special late lunch for Sunday since I really don't want to deal with the crowded restaurants around here. He's dangerous, you know. He's been watching Food Network a lot since he got home from school. Lord only knows what he'll come up with.

What are you planning special for this weekend?

that's the problem with being on a cleaning strike.  It only bothers us, not them.  Actually, it doesn't bother me very much either.  A dirty barn bothers me more than a dirty house and "dirty" has a lot of latitude in a barn.

I'm flying out to NY today to judge a pony club rally.  Will fly home early Sunday morning and maybe do an early dinner with the guys to celebrate Father's Day.  I think they will be playing golf instead of watching.  We don't usually go out either for those special days because of the crowding in resturants but with being gone, going out will be easier.

Ugh the strike -- I think all families deserve it -- especially the women. Before Ed and I were married he could handle his own laundry, cook, clean. Now 7 years later he miraculously forgot. Well I sometimes "forget" to wash his delicates, too! Ok nuff about that!!

Today is our last day on the beach and a wind storm is brewing up!! Better clear up and QUICK!!

Hate to go back to work. Lots of changes since I returned from surgery. Seems they didn't like how I managed anything so now my responsibilities are changing -- found this out Friday at noon. Lovely. So I don't know what is to come...wish me luck Monday.

Father's Day will be full of laundry and a cookout with family!! Hope you all have a good weekend!

Meg

I tried the housework strike thing a few yrs ago.  I caved in before they did.  We have a quiet weekend planned. The kids are taking us out to eat on Sunday for Fathers day.   Hoping to go for a ride thru the mountain if the weather cooperates.  Have a great weekend LWs.   Cindy

Ive been on  a permanent  housework strike forever .   But how far has it gotten me ?   HMMM ...

SOMEBODY has to do the heavy lifting ...   and it better not be a  man unless hes has OCD or is army-trained ... or U will see  rings around Ur toilet  ( and DONT lift the seat ) ...  and Ur home will look like that of a hoarder ..

in my case I think it might be time to take off th e crown and do some organizing lol ( when noones looking of course lest they get ideas ..) ...

I guess I'm lucky because since DH retired he has taken on most of the inside and outside work at the house.  He doesn't do it as good as I like, but I can live with it since I don't have to do it.

Our kids and DH's family will be coming to our house Sunday.  We are grilling hamburgers and hot dogs.  Get to see the DGD's!!
