Gail, I'd love a couple of samples if you have some when I see you.  I can see how adding it to so many things really adds up during the day.

Lee,
Hope your sleevie is feeling better by now!!  My pouch does not like too much food until around lunch time so my protein drinks are great for the morning.  I do decaf coffee with protein first thing in the morning and then have my lemon tea protein drink about mid morning.

My plan frowns on protein drinks also.  I tried it their way and snacked way too much so I went back to the protein drinks.  I think we each have to find our own way and what works for us.

Maybe you can try some different types of drinks in the morning.  I need warm first thing.

Good luck.

Linda, me too on the warm in the morning!!  I'm going to give some other drinks a try and see what works best for me.  I didn't want to go the liquid protein route, but it's worked so well for so many here that I'm willing to do a two week trial and see how it goes.

I am so excited for you to be so close to your 100 pound goal!

Maybe you should listen to sleevie and start with your hot tea, then add some protein maybe an hour or two later. That's how I started postop, I had decaf constant comment tea with a little stevia 8 to 16 ozs first thing,  then a while later I would have a protein shake or greek yogurt.

Good luck!

Thanks Maria!  I have 16-20 oz of decaf Earl Grey when I wake up.  Tomorrow morning I'm going to have that and then make a hot protein to take to work.

Lee, my new favorite is iced protein coffee. I do one cup the night before in my filter over the cup. I use Peet's French roast decaf. Then in the morning I mix it with 4 scoops of Beneprotein (24 gms.) and about 1/4 cup of 1% milk. I pour it over ice and then a splash of cream on top.

I don't like sweetened drinks. This makes delicious iced coffee to me. I put it in a thermal mug and take on the road, if I have to leave the house early. I haven't been able to get the packets from Medco, but when I do, I will carry around to use if I meet someone for coffee. I'll share some samples with you the next time I see you, which I hope is soon.

I seem to break a stall when I add an extra protein drink to my day. Congratulations on being so close to 100 pounds gone. What a great accomplishment!!!!!

Thanks, Ruthie. These last few pounds are tough, but I won't give up till I reach normal BMI (140). Then I may reassess to a lower weight for the dreaded "bounce-back". It feels daunting, then I look back to where I started. Then I appreciate what an amazing journey this is.

You've done great Wendy!  I kinda figured you wouldn't just STOP at 140.  lol  There is a difference between reasonable goal and desired goal... now that you are so close to being "reasonable" why not go for the gusto?  LOL

Thanks Wendy!!  I hope to see you in Santa Rosa in August if I don't see you sooner.  It sounds like a long ways off but it will be here soon.  I have some unflavored protein powder.  I think I'll give it a try again.  I haven't tried it in over a year.
