i have "what-if-itis"
yeah, nerves are playing a big part of my life right now. lots of big changes are happening, not just the surgery, and my brain is trying to fix everything, instead of letting it go. i know i will be taken care of. i'm doing the right thing... i need to let go!

Vitamins do add up in cost. I do splurge on my iron from vitalady bu****ch CVS/Wallgreens/Walmart for sales and buy when they have buy one get one. I also buy some vitamins at Sam's Club. It is an investment when you first buy all of them at once, but then you replace them little by little and it doesn't seem so $$ difficult.
My vits are much less than the perscriptions I was on before surgery.
there are things you have control over and things you don't. If you can't do anything to control it, give it up. Why worry and create more drama when there is plenty without adding more.

I save on co-pays -- not at the pcp nearly as much now! On food. On rx I no longer have to take. So it has given me extra for protein and vits. I am shopping thrift for me and not buying things for the family unless its needed. You can do this! Lots of good tips here on where the sales are. The guy a Vitamin Shop told me to ck prices online before shopping in the store and ghey will match sales on their website.

Oh girl....I have had my fair share of the "what-ifs" too! Before surgery I was on three diabetic meds (two oral and one shot), high blood pressure meds, high cholesterol meds, asthma meds, fibromyalgia meds...you name it. I worry about the same things too. What if I keep getting worse and can't afford my meds? What if after surgery I can't afford those vitamins? What if...what if...what if? We're not well off, we're both in college (on-line, but we still work our butts off) in order to make life a bit easier for our family, we have a daughter, and the list goes on and on. My husband, at first, was nervous about the surgery. Cost aside (thank God for insurance!) he worried about the risks to me, the costs of vitamins...he had what ifs too. We sat down and did some crunching (numbers, not food ) and even though it will be tight as tight can be, we figure we can do this. The alternative? A shortened life for me and my husband and daughter left behind. Surgery has been a godsend for me. Figure out what a 3 month supply would cost you. For me, a 3 month supply is about $140, which is LESS that what I was spending on meds each month. That's if I buy them at the surgeon's office. Shop around online and see if you can find a less expensive source. Those vitamins are a MUST.
Anywho, that's just my penny thought.

I think it's nerves... lots of us go through some similar where we worry about some aspect of the surgery. Usually it's worrying about dying so I think worrying about vitamins is easier.
