Each person is different, But you are right that if you put the body into stavation mode no matter how much you exercise it makes it very hard to shed body fat.

However, using myself as an example.  Prior to having diabetes and having my thyroid killed off with radioactive iodine I could easily eat 2000 cal a day, High protein low carbs and fat and shed 2-3 pounds a week doing 45 min of weight training and 30 min of cardio on the treadmill using a heart rate monitor and staying in the 75 percent zone for  1hr and 15 min to 1 1/2 hrs and that was jumping back on the treadmill during the time you would usually rest while liftin weights so it was 90 min non stop.

Now with the diabetes and no thyroid and doing the above I still gain body fat!  I lose nothing bu****er weight till I rehydrate.

So figuring I have to something each month I would drop 200 calories to find out where my body needs to be to lose weight.  Long story short I kept gaining fat until I got down to 1000 calories!! eating 5 small meals a day and at that I now MAINTAINED my weight.

I could not eat less as I just didn't have the energy to work out hard at that caloric intake.  I had the Nut telling me its cause you not eating enough even after I told her my story above.  They just don't believe you cause all they know is what a NORMAL body does.

You never see a fat POW and they are not fed well and still lose weight.  Me no matter what I don't lose.
