Price, how did you get your lab numbers? I finally had them taken but I haven't heard anything from the Dr. Do I wait until my next appointment or should I call them and get a copy? If I get a copy, how will I know what I'm reading? Just curious.

I have mine done at my PCP and they send them automatically to me.  The ones I had done at the Surgeon's I had to request, but they were happy to print them out for me.  But lots of folks here don't seem to get them unless they really fight for them.  That is crazy since you legally have access to your medical records.
I don't know much about them except to see if they are in the range or not.  Gina and some others are the lab gurus and can tell us what we are looking at and for.

ok, I will call Monday and ask. I think it's strange that they don't automatically share this with you. How do you know what to adjust if you don't have them! Thanks Price

Is that D3 right? 22 or is the lab not back yet.

Ferritin is going in the wrong direction. More Tender iron or Proferrin.

Are you taking vitamin A?

Potassium looks pretty good.

AST and ALT look great.

PTH and calcium are holding on but depend on the D3.

Am I missing anything?

OH has them scrambled.  the AST and ALT are from last time.  Either they didn't do them this time or it was some that were messed up.  D3 isn't on this report either.  Vit A is this time.  I'm not doing any now.  I haven't done any iron from the beginning.  There were a couple of things that I have never seen before, I think the tech got some of the stuff wrong.  I'll try pasting it on facebook and see if it makes more sense.

It is really hard to tell what is current and what are past tests the way they are posted.

Calcium is much better -not sure why it dropped so drastically last time but it is back where it should be.

ALK phospatase - is that a current reading or from a past draw?  118 is high and should be looked into - could be nothing, but get it rechecked in a  month to make sure it is okay.

Selenium is  only listed once of the 4 draws - when was it done?  This should be done each time.  Does your multi have selenium in it?  You want a multi to have atleast 22.5mg in each one.  Many people develop a selenium deficiency but dont' know it since alot of surgeons don't test for it.  I have to take an extra 200mcg 4 times per week.

Your folate - 2.2 and 3.0 are those your levels down from 20?  IF so, you are majorly deficient.  You want to be greater than 20.  IF this is the case then you need to take a folic acid supplement of atleast 1.2 mg daily.

B1 - 14.5 down from 67 - that is going down fast and not good.  Vitamin B1 deficiency can be very serious and lead to nerve damage. Please get onto some vitamin B1 daily.  Just to maintain a B1 level, 100mg daily is needed.  When I was diagnosed vitamin B1 deficient, I was put on 300mg daily and have been taking that ever since.  There is no danger in taking too much as you pee out the excess but not enough is dangerous.  Please get some ASAP.

Vitamin D - is the level 22 recent?  you want your level to be around 80 -100.  You need major supplementation.  I would recommend getting some dry D3 from vitalady.com 50,000 units and take 2 times per week and get retested in 2months.  Many people recommend taking more often but that can really spike levels fast and you can always increase more later.  I took too much D and ended up with levels greater than 150, they couldn't measure it - it was so high.  Now that I am taking it 2 times per week, my levels are perfect.

Vitamin A - you list the range of 19-83?  Are you sure? They are usually 38-98, so a level of 42 is really low.  Is the vitamin A they tested retinol, palimate or betacarotene?  Just make sure you are in the mid to upper end of the range and you want it to retinol or palimate.  If the range is 38-98, then you need to be on vitamin A and the normal starting dose is 25,000 units of dry vitamin A daily from vitalady.com

the alk  phosphatase and selenium were evidently not done and were suppose to be done.

folate is down. I will start some folic acid.

B1 wasn't reported but like the other, was suppose to be done.

Calcuim is up because I have been better at taking my during the day doses.

D3 wasn't done evidently.  last time it was 117.

This was the first time I have had Vit A tested.  The range is what I reported and the level is what I reported.

So I need to get alk phosphase, selenium, B1 and D3 redone. Protein,  AST and ALT were not done or at least not reported.

I need to order B1, A, folic acid and iron and start on those?
