I'll be checking in. I think we'll be ready after we hit the grocery story in the morning.

Thanks!

Hopefully, the winds will settle down by the time Irene gets to your area.  I will be watching for your updates, Gina.

Take care,
Amy

Grocery store trip complete. Praying it doesn't get bad. I am about 45 minutes from Topsail Island. Hope to be far enough inland. We will see. Pray the carb monster leaves me be. When I get stressed he has a tendency to kick my butt.
Nothing tastes as good as this feels!

Good to hear that you are ready.  Just remember that carbs won't change the weather!  I will be thinking of you as I track the storm path online.  Let us know how you are doing if you can.

Remember to fill your bathtubs with water (NOT for drinking!) but for cleaning and flushing.

and secure everything outside because it could all go airborne...

Stores were nuts today.  I went to 6 stores before I could get a flashlight - nothing at Walmart, CVS, walgreens, home depot, lowes, local hardware store.  Finally went into N****inutes away and got one but cost me $30.00   It is a good one, will light up my entire apartment but not quite what I planned on spending.

Have to go back out tomorrow to get drugs and gas.  The lines at the gas stations were so crazy, you couldn't tell if you were in the traffic on the roads or in line for gas.  I didnt' have time to wait.

Had a hard time finding foods that we can eat that dont' involve cooking. I have electric cooking.  Guess I will be eating more carbs than usual.

They already declared a state of emergency and starting 6 pm tomorrow night, all roads will be closed to emergency vehicles.  All airports in NY area will be closed tomorrow until further notice also and all Mass transit in NY/NJ has been suspended also
