I was screaming inside when I wrote that....I'm glad someone is listening!!!

Good Menu!

Awe..Kdg...I miss those days. I remember standing at the bus and crying when DD#3 went.  I cried for weeks because I was so lonely.  I finally volunteered at the school every day and then decided if I'm going to work every day I might as well get paid for it so I worked as a substitute.

My 2 oldest granddaughters are in 6th and 1st.  I'm dreading the oldest one going to Jr. High next year.  It will be a few years before the next ones go to school.

I've been hungry for egg salad but it's always late when I think about it and I'm too tired to boil the eggs.  That's the only way I can eat eggs.  I'll have to make some for next weeks lunches.

Good Menu!

Hi Roz & everyone!
I have had crazy week and haven't posted here. I also post on myfitnesspal.com because I can easily from my phone.

B - 1/2 sausage patty & one scrambled egg - had decaf coffee (not with meal tho)
L - 2 oz tuna salad, on 1/2 flat out whole wheat wrap with lettuce
D - 2 chicken tenders & two french fries (at restaurant on way to football game)
S - Grape Isopure drink (40 gms)
Breyers carb smart ice c ream bar
small apple with peanut butter

So far today I've had 1039 calories, 89 grams of protein & 56 carbs.

I was wondering if you all had protein "snacks" at all. I have noticed when I work (12 hour shifts) - and even days that I don't work around mid-afternoon, I am kinda hungry. Sometimes I have either an Atkins drink or low carb slim-fast - but at some point down the road I would hope I could get all my protein from food. My NUT says no snacks at all, only 3 meals per day. I may ask them if I can add a snack. I just wondered what your thoughts were about that.

Well, I did add two snacks today. Hopefully, I didn't over do it! I am sticking to the NUT plan pretty well, I think, but today for some reason I was just so doggone hungry!

I edited all my totals from earlier so you could see the big picture Roz.

Thanks!

Lynn

Some Nuts/Drs insist on things that make me glad I don't have them.  I still do protein drinks and have at least 4 meals a day, sometimes 5.  Yes, they are protein based but I would have a very hard time with some of the restrictions some groups demand.  This works for me.

I used to call my Protein's snacks but just the word snack made me feel like I was snacking all day so now I usually have 2 planned snacks and 3 Protein drinks besides my 3 meals.  Even at almost 3 years out I could never get enough protein through food.

Jerky, hard boiled eggs,  tuna, canned chicken and beef bites make really good Protein snacks.

Watch the chicken tenders and fries early out.  I know you only had a few but they can really lead to bad habits.   The rest of your menu looks Great!

Thank you for the input! Actually I have found when I have potatoes, they usually taste good, but my stomach usually feels too full, so I have thought I should try and avoid them.

It is extremely rare that I ever include potatoes in my menus. I  consider them a bad carb along with bread, rice, and sweets.  Those are things I need to avoid to maintain.
