More protein reviews

I'm about to the end of my samples and have realized, at least for me, there isn't a ton of difference between all of these.  Most are ok, not great, not bad.  All have mixed ok. Some work better making thick shakes, some are better in coffee.  But for the most part, they are all pretty much the same.

Optimum Double Rich Chocolate - didn't think it was all that chocolatey.  In fact I added some SF syurps to it.

Syntha-6 Chocolate Mint - This was wonderful in my coffee, but at 200 calories a scoop, I probably won't buy more.

Syntha-6 Carmel Latte - great in coffee, but again, 200 calories for only 22 g of protein is pretty high.  Carmel SF syurp does the same thing.

BSN Lean Dessert Whipped vanilla Cream - I'm not a vanilla fan but thought I'd see if there was a really wonderful one.  I didn't like it.  I added SF syurp to it and it was ok but I won't order any.

Gold Standard 100% Whey Mocha Cappuccino - this was fine, nothing special.

So far, I'm thinking I will order the BSN Lean Dessert Chocolate Fudge Pudding to make chocolate shakes.  I will continue to use the GNC chocolate carmel for my coffee because I like that as well as anything and don't have to pay shipping on it.  I still have a few more to try so I'll let you know about those as I try them.

I live on the Optimum Vanilla Ice cream. It is what I use for my coffees in the mornings.

Thanks for the reviews Price. I am so sick of trying different products but I know that I have to. I use them for breakfast and sometimes a snack.

I came to pretty much the same conclusion, that most whey protein powders are pretty much the same.  In the last year I have tried many and none really stuck out except a sample of American Pure whey in cake batter.  That was good but I decided in order to save money I would buy 20lbs of their whey isolate unflavored.  It was only about $100 with a coupon code and I can mix it in anything, not just shakes, and flavor it the way I like.  It came to about $5 a pound, which is great for isolate.  It inspires me to be creative with different flavors but I love my protein Caramelizer.  I have made it with chocolate, vanilla and now unflavored and I really can't tell the difference.  Plus I can add it to other foods to increase the protein.  I have even made egg bites and added a few scoops to it and it baked up fine.

Thanks for the reminder about unflavored protein!  Last time I ordered some it was on backorder for so long that I gave up and then forgot about it!

We have a coffee place here called Dutch Brothers.  Kind of like a Starbucks.  They make a drink called the Caramelizer.  It used to be called a Milky Way but the candy people didn't like that.
I found their recipe online and started using it for my protein drink.
This is how I make it.
1 cup milk of your choice (I use Calorie Countdown 2%)
2 tablespoons sugar free chocolate sauce (I use DiVinci's)
2 tablespoons sugar free caramel sauce (I use DiVinci's)
1/4 cup decaf espresso
2 scoops unflavored American Pure whey isolate
about 1 or 2 cups ice.
I blend it all up and it is a great drink.
You can also make it warm without ice.
