"Sitting with My Hunger" (thanks LadyTazz)

Mindfulness is so useful- when I remember to practice it!

I was in 3 different supermarkets yesterday with a 2 week guest who is particular about his food (and skinny), and I was hungry. So I practiced the mantra "Hunger is not an emergency", was with my stomach, looked at all the goodies, and am down a pound today. Go figure.

I do sometimes take protein bars and food with me to work...it slows down my eating (not rushed at lunch) and I know I will have something good for me even if I get too rushed to grab something. Also keep vits at work. And if no food....I try to drink liquids....If not by the time I get home I can't get everything in!!

Good reminders and I like the one about if you want to know why you overeat, don't....

I see on the forums here that alot of people still have "hunger feelings" I had my surgery 7-09 and I have never felt hungry. I have gained 40 lbs back from eating bad sweet carbs that do not hurt my stomach if I eat slow they seem to digest very fast so that every 15 min I can and do eat more.
I have planned and planned good low carb low calorie eating. But the head hunger,emotional eating just takes over.

So, This time I have gone over 24 hours eating right!!!

I wonder why some people still have hunger feelings?
