Need some motivation!
Cold, gray and rainy. Even my trusty lab Buddy doesnt want to go outside.
So I am really try to convince myself to hop on the treadmill.
Maybe I need to crank up some tunes and just get going.
Anyone else get the blahs this time of the year and how do you combat the winter blues?

Last week I had an evening like that....was supposed to join my running group for the 2nd night in a row but it was cold, gray and rainy. Didn't want to head to the gym either. Started a DVD and hated doing that and then decided to run around me neighborhood. (Didn't enjoy that either!). I guess the moral of the story for me was find something that I would enjoy and just do it. I wish I had just gome to the gym as it wouldve been warm there. LOL> hopefully someone else will inspire you! I will say this, once you do exercise you will LOVE the rest of the day!!

Wish I could motivate you, but I'm having a hard time myself. I think it is the time change and being dark when I get off.
I have not made it to Zumba three times in a week since early November. Haven't walked/jogged(except shopping) since early November. I love both so I don't know what it is going to take to get me motivated. I know that I feel so much better when I do it. I'm pretty sure I'm a little easier to live with when I exercise-LOL!!
Maybe we should start a separate exercise thread each day to help motivate each other. Diana used to do one for us. What do you think??

There are some days that I really have to talk to myself into going to the gym, which is
part of the reason that I meet with a trainer a couple of times/week. It gets me there and I am less likely to cancel on her. Other days, I tell myself that I always feel better after I have been to the gym, but if I miss, I feel guilty. I have never been sorry that I have been to the gym, but have felt sorry, if I haven't made it there, when I have it planned.
I tell myself that I will run or workout for "X" amount of time and I almost always surpass that amount. The group fitness classes are also motivating, because there are other people there.
I also think about regain and if I don't exercise, I will end up where I started from. That is always motivating.

I didn't go to the gym for a month this fall... I was moving out of a house and travelling and just exhausted physically...So I took a month off and didn't even think about it...I'm at goal and if I watch my food I'm good...so I just rested...Getting up and going again was the problem. .. the longer you're out the harder it is to go back. Yesterday was my go back day. I got up and didn't want to go. It was cold here and Monday...but I told myself that this is my JOB...and it's like going to work and I have to go and I put on my clothes and I went out the door and I went to the gym and ran for 1/2 an hour on the treadmill and it was

I loved it...I can't believe I was away for so long. I had good energy and felt wonderful. I only did 1/2 hour because otherwise I get too sore. I am starting out again.
I think I will slow down the workouts...not do an hour of cardio but 1/2 to 45 minutes only...
I go to Pilates today to stretch even though I want to go do cardio again...see it's addictive..
I do think going out to the gym helps a lot...because the energy there is good...at home I look at the stationary bike and say...no...I NEVER work out at home. Now the YMCA is not expensive and it's nice...I just think if we think of excercise at part of our JOBS it's better...some days you don't want to go to work but you have to...

When I was running, I remember waking up to rain and hating the thought that I was going to get out and run in the cold rain. But if I pushed, I would end up having some of my best runs. The days now that I am getting ready to drive on of the ponies and it starts raining, I have the same thoughts. but when I am done, it is great.
Of course, now it is my PT not any fun exerciseing, but I definately need encouragement. After years of protecting my knee, now I have to pu**** and it hurts and is both physically and mentally hard. Thank goodness for lamaze and yoga breathing to get me through all this.
