Goal!

Just 2 days short of the 9 month mark and I've made my pie-in-the-sky goal!  I never, ever thought I'd see 125 lbs.  And the amazing thing is that I still have some extra that I can lose.  I'll keep exercising and eating right and see where this ends up.  I do have a feeling that much lower than 120 will be too thin, but we'll see.   My BMI is right at 21.  I'm just amazed and humbled at what my VSG has allowed me to obtain.

Congrats!!!

A word of advice...one of my biggest regrets is deciding on my own that I was low enough and put myself on maintenance.  Your body should stop on it's own and then you will have some bounce back room.

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!

Thanks for the good advice.  I'll keep doing what I'm doing for now and see what happens over the next few months.  My weight loss has slowed dramatically to only 1/2- 1 lb a week, but that does certainly add up over time. I haven't seen 119 lbs since I was in 6th grade.  Might be fun to visit it again!

I agree with you.  I did the same.  I feel like I squandered my 2nd year post op.  I reached a weight vey close to goal and basically put myself on maintenance too.....to soon.

Congratulations!  I'm just one week post-op so your post gives me a lot of hope.

So true, but a tough time of year, though, to keep to my goal!   I am staying strictly away from white carbs and when I'm tempted I just remember something I read here on this board:  "Nothing tastes as good as thing feels'.

But I'll also confess I do miss gingerbread cookies!

hurray for you.  I kept reaching goal and kept going.  I am lower than I ever thought I'd be but ok for the eventual bounce back.  If you are happy eating as you are, just keep on keeping on.

Will do!  One of the best things I tell people who ask is that I am not dieting, but that I am eating a much more healthy diet.  I've learned my full signal (a burp) and that is when I stop.  I still need to work on eating slowly, otherwise my sleeve definitely tells me I've overdone it.
